We welcome all levels of intelligence, even the bed-wetting, booger-eating left wing sheep! If what we state in here angers you, pleases you, causes you to re-think your painfully naive beliefs, or conjures up a rare episode of independent thought, then
I don't know about the rest of you, but I pop in a Bruce Springsteen or REM or Pearl Jam CD to listen to the MUSIC. I plop down 10 bucks at a movie theatre to be ENTERTAINED by my favorite actors.

I could CARE LESS what Bruce and Eddie and Susan Sarandon and Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen think about President Bush. I could CARE LESS what the Hollywood elites and the musicians think about the war in Iraq or the economy or anything else.

Why can't they all just do WHAT THEY ARE GOOD AT! Bruce.........SHUT UP AND SING! Chris Rock.........SHUT UP AND MAKE ME LAUGH! George Clooney........SHUT UP AND PRETEND YOU ARE AN ACTOR!

Every election cycle, it's ALWAYS the usual suspects in Hollywood and in the music industry who suddenly decide that THEIR uneducated biased political rhetoric and lies really MATTER to the rest of the citizens in the USA.

Ed Asner, Alec Baldwin, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Martin Sheen, Barbra Streisand, most so-called comedians, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Mathews, Pearl Jam, Van Halen, The Dixie Twits, John Mellencamp and hundreds of other so-called "artists" all ASSUME that their status in the entertainment industry qualifies them to suddenly become political experts.

Earth to Hollywood and the music world !!! I have a news flash for you! MOST of you are high school dropouts, drug users, and plastic-faced botox-infested PHONIES who don't have a CLUE about ANYTHING beyond the fantasy world that you live in !

I find it FASCINATING that the VAST MAJORITY of these entertainment industry dimwits are way past their prime and are basically trying to revitalize their fading careers by suddenly becoming political activists and rebels without a cause or clue.

Let me see...........
Ed Asner: Gee Ed, when is the last time you earned an HONEST living? Mary Tyler Moore Show?
Alec Baldwin: Gosh Alec, if you were as adept at acting as you were at beating your wife, you would have several Oscars on your mantle right now.
Tim Robbins & Susan Sarandon: A match made in heaven! So Tim, I bet you are looking forward to that "senior citizen discount" when your "old lady" reaches 60 next year, eh?
Martin Sheen: Marty, Marty, Marty! Hello? McFly? I have a NEWS FLASH for you! You are not really the President Of The United States. You just play one on TV!
Barbra Streisand: So how are things going at the Barbra Streisand School of Foreign Policy these days?
Bruce Springsteen: Just a bit of advice, Mr. "Boss". Cut the political nonsense, or else you will witness your record sales "going down, down down".
Dave Mathews: One of civilization's greatest unsolved mysteries is HOW IN THE HELL you ever got a recording contract. You make Tiny Tim sound like Luciano Pavarotti.
Pearl Jam: Hey, Eddie, the "teenage angst" gig? That went out of style about the time Clinton redefined the word "sex".
Van Halen: C'mon guys, is it necessary for you to show that ridiculous anti-Bush video DURING your concerts? I now understand why you embarked on this "reunion tour". The 4 of you together again constitutes a TOTAL IQ of almost 100.
The Dixie Chicks: Hey, ladies, so how are things going now that the country music industry has banished you from their genre? So what's next? Maybe a RAP album? How about a concert tour with Eminem, Snoop Doggy Dog and P. Diddy?
John Mellencamp: Wow, John, I always wondered what happened to ya! I guess the royalty money from "Jack and Diane" must have run out, so you decided to cozy up to "The Boss" to earn a few bucks?

Well, the list goes on and on and on...........

Oh, one more thing, here is a PARTIAL list of the people in the entertainment industry who have voiced their SUPPORT of President Bush in the upcoming election..............read it and WEEP, lefties!!

Tom Cruise
James Woods
Jackie Mason
Ron Silver
Clint Eastwood
Gene Hackman
George Carlin
Kurt Russell
Denzel Washington
Bruce Willis
Al Pacino
Robert DeNiro
Morgan Freeman
Bo Derek
The vast majority of the country music stars (too many to list)
Alice Cooper
Kid Rock
etc. etc. etc.............

You forgot to add Britney Spears on your list of people who voiced their support of Bush we all know how politically motivated she is!  Dave Mathews is a great musician and judging on how you speak of him, is it possible that your hearing is suffering a case of bias?

sooooo...it's bad when left wing entertainers support Democrats...I agree...but then you totally lose all credibility by including a list of right wing celebs...you seem rather PROUD of THEM *read it and weep, lefties* So what's the score Flamer? Should entertainers stay out of politics? Or only the left wing ones? What are you really talking about?

I second Myrrander's comments.

The Left enjoys the outspokeness of Celebrities, yes. As you indicate, the Right enjoys the outspokeness of quite a few too. So what's your point?

Oh yeah, and the Right actually elects celebrities to office (Ronald Reagan, Sonny Bono, Arnold Schwartzenegger, "Gopher" from Love Boat...)

Not that I begrudge this point. I just think it is interesting how many folks complain about clebrity political opinions...until those opinions agree with your position.

My motivation for listing the SUPPORTERS of President Bush is to show everybody that not ALL entertainers are left wing wackos..........there are MANY who are capable of independent thought, rational behavior, and opinions based on facts, not emotion and political agendas. I have NO IDEA if all of these so-called "right wing" entertainers consider themselves to be Democrats or Republicans. The point is, IT DOESN"T MATTER...........they are AMERICANS first. And ALL Americans with an OUNCE of common sense do not travel around the USA spewing their anti-Bush and anti-war NONSENSE during a time of WAR. Didn't ANY of you learn anything from the Vietnam conflict?
Apparently NOT.
I don't agree with a LOT of things that Bush has done or hasn't done, but I will NOT encourage, enable, and provide comfort to the Islamo-terrorists by criticizing the government of the country that I live in DURING A TIME OF WAR.

Exactly!

It's ok for those who use their status to speak as long as they speak for the president....all others can just STFU.  Right?

That one in bold, that one right there. The answer is HELL YES, last thing I need is some GED earning actor or even an educated actor speaking out politically because they seem to always come off as 'I am better than you so I should I know, not you!'.

If actors want to do something, let them do what Bono (U2 Singer) is doing, do something that helps people but remains non-partisan.

I personally don't want to know who they are voting for because it might effect my judgment of seeing, or listening to their future work, but I have no qualms about them using their status to get a non-partisan charity somewhere.

Great point I have to give you credit for that one.

Patriot-----You forgot to mention Sean "Saddam's foolish enabling tool" Penn, Rosie "Don't get your gun" O'Donnell and Michael "I havent owned a razor in twenty years" Moore. (By the by...why does he ALWAYS look like he just got out of bed, clothes and all?)
My reply when Seanboy went to Iraq and came back declaring it free of WMDs was "Who gives a shit?" He's a nobody....at the time, everyone (including a WHOLE lot of Dems on boths ends of the Captiol Building, I might remind you all) thought Iraq had them. Was Sean actually idiotic and egotistical enough to think he had the clout to force Saddam into showing him more than a few empty warehouses and dusty labs? What a fame-addled moron.
And Rosie's ambush a few years back of gun-rights advocate (and right-winger) Tom Selleck. She ought to have been ashamed of herself. That was a low blow. I've heard her mouthing off in the last year or so, too.
Michael Moore....feh. Who cares? Go waste a few more miles of film, but why not this time show what good things we've done and are trying to do in Iraq?
These people all seem to think that their fame automatically gives them some odd kind of insider knowledge of government policy or intelligence info or something. I feel for them; maybe they're delusional.

One right-winger you forgot to mention was "The Nuge"...Ted Nugent. Gotta love a guy who threatens to pound on a PETA member for yelling at his wife about her fur coat.

For some odd reason, acting, writing or musical talent (or lack thereof, in some of the above-mentioned cases), often seems to be a cause of leftist thinking; it seems to squeeze out the common sense and reason in many of these poor people. So sad.

Didn't ANY of you learn anything from the Vietnam conflict?

I learned that we shouldn't expect to fight a quick, slap/dash war in a small country that believes in a set of ideas so strongly that they will be willing to fight a grueling and endless guerrilla war. I learned that despite Rummy's talking point back then, that these people didn't want to be like the USA. Did Bush learn that? Or was all he learned during Vietnam how to do perfect keg stands and snort lines of coke from in between a sorority girl's tits?

Memo to "rightwinger".....

Well stated! I obviously didn't mention all of the leftie wacko Hollywood and music elitists...........of course Rosie and Sean and Michael Moore are at the TOP of the list.

I also failed to mention Tom Selleck and Terrible Ted Nugent, both of whom are outspoken "right-wingers". Good catch on your part!

I guess the whole point is, I really don't care whether you are a left wing or right wing entertainer. Just ENTERTAIN me, if you have the talent, that is. I don't care to know your views on politics or your favorite food or your favorite automobile..........

Why should we be caring what all the entertainers in Hollywood think? A lot of them have never even held real jobs! They don't even know what it's like to be an AVERAGE American, so they're obviously not just a vocal representation of the "average guy". And they're not political commentators-- they don't have degrees in political science; I bet most of them slept through high school government class! They probably have no clue how the system really works, and I'm not paying good money to listen to a bunch of idiots talk about why they do or do not like Bush. I can hear that from plenty of MORE intelligent folks for FREE by watching those neato guys on cable TV or by just logging on to the internet and listening to REAL Americans. You know, the ones who actually have held jobs, pay mortgages, worry about paying for their kids' education and their own retirement (which will come for them in their 60's, not their 40's). In short- these celebrities are not average Americans who know what the real world is like, and they don't study political science, so they don't know what the system of government is like, so why the hell should I be bothering about THEIR opinions?

Why should we care? You'd be surprised (at least I was) just how many nut jobs out there that think what they (Hollywood actors) say is handed down from on high! Just look at the stuff surrounding Farenheit 9-11.

I agree whole-heartedly. Just make me laugh and keep the politics to yourself. Unless, of course, you decide to put your money where your mouth is and actually run for some office (Go Arnold!).

So, Flamethrower, are we to assume that you are a highly educated professional politician who
therefore has the right to expound your opinions in a public forum (the internet) whereas anyone
(or at least anyone further left than center) who enters the field of entertainment must
automatically give up that right simply because they have greater access to the public? Or can
we all agree that every American has a right to their opinion and a right to express it?
